I knew there was some mild propaganda on russian tv but this tops it all. That's like some north korean standard of propaganda.

youth, maybe. tho I guarantee there will be morons who will believe it too. or maybe they will see nothing wrong with it. or maybe they will say "this TV show did not claim it is truth, they just portrayed what might happen in the future".
anyway, there will be loads and loads of older Russians (mostly those who cannot access the Internet) who will believe it as the 100% truth.
